Do you know this painting? "Orange Tan” was painted in 1958 by the American artist Mark Rothko .
Rothko was part of an American group of artists that became known as “Color Field” artists. They created big size abstract paintings with a lot of colors and sometimes one or a just a few colors. Rothko has created paintings to fill up rooms with just one or two shades of the same color such as the Rothko Chapel.
