"La Grande Jatte” or ”Sunday Afternoon on the Island of la Grande Jatte” was created in 1884-1886 by the French artist Georges Seraut.
Seraut developed a painting technique called Pointillism. Pointillism did not use brush strokes. The painting was created with dots-by-dots of colors. The process was so long and labor intensive that it took Seraut two years to finish the painting.
