Do you know this painting? "Woman With Axe” was created around 1939-1942 by the African American artist B. T. .

B.T. was born a slave and became an artist very late in life. He never sold any of his work and was discovered when he was 85 years old by another artist who saw B.T drawing on old used pieces of cardboard on the streets. Although he never attended any school, he created more than 2,000 small paintings and drawings and his art is now hanging on the walls of many important museums and art collections. You can see his paintings and drawings in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
